Paraffin is a kind of flake or needle crystal which is obtained by solvent dewaxing, solvent dewaxing, freezing crystallization and pressing dewaxing of lubricating oil fraction obtained from crude oil distillation.
Used for making high grade fatty acid, high grade alcohol, match, candle, water repellent agent, ointment, electric insulating material, etc.
Stability
Paraffin wax products are in modelling or in process of besmear apply, be in hot melt state for a long time, contact with air, if stable sex is bad, easy oxidation metamorphic, color deepens, give out stink even. In addition, paraffin wax will turn yellow when used in light conditions. Therefore, paraffin wax is required to have good thermal stability, oxidation stability and light stability.
In order to improve the stability of paraffin wax, it is necessary to make deep refining of paraffin wax to remove these impurities.
Classification
According to the different degree of processing and refining, it can be divided into fully refined paraffin wax, semi-refined paraffin wax and coarse paraffin wax. Each kind of wax according to the melting point, generally every 2ºC, divided into different varieties, such as 52,54,56,58 and other grades.
Application
Coarse paraffin is mainly used for making matches, fiberboard, canvas and so on because of its oil content.
Full refined paraffin wax and semi refined paraffin wax are widely used, mainly used as food, oral medicine and some commodity components and packaging materials, used for fruit preservation, electrical components insulation, improve rubber aging resistance and increase flexibility, etc. It can also be used for oxidation to produce and synthesize higher fatty acids.
