StabilityStable. 
1. One of the main uses of magnesium oxide is as a flame retardant. Traditional flame retardant materials are widely used in flame retardant mixtures composed of halogen-containing polymers or halogen-containing flame retardants.
2. Another purpose of magnesium oxide is to be used as a neutralizer. Magnesium oxide is alkaline and has good adsorption performance. It can be used as a neutralizer for acid-containing waste gas, wastewater treatment, treatment of heavy metals and organic waste liquids, etc. With the increase in environmental protection requirements, domestic demand has grown rapidly.
3. The compacted magnesium oxide can be used as an optical coating. When the coating thickness is between 300 nm and 7 mm, the coating is transparent. The 1mm thick Chemicalbook coating has a refractive index of 1.72.
4. It is used for rock climbing and can absorb hand sweat. (Note: Inhalation of magnesium oxide fumes can cause metal fume disease.)
5. Mainly used for the preparation of oral medicines to neutralize Excessive stomach acid. Commonly used preparations are: magnesia milk-emulsion; magnesium cover tablets-each containing MgO 0.1g; antacid powder-powder made by mixing magnesium oxide and sodium bicarbonate, etc.
 6. Light magnesium oxide is mainly used as a raw material for preparing ceramics, enamels, refractory crucibles and refractory bricks. It is also used as a filler for polishing agents, adhesives and paper, as an accelerator and activator for neoprene and fluororubber.
