Tetrahydrocurcumin (THC) is an antioxidative substance, which is derived from curcumin, the component of turmeric.
In the present investigation, the effect of THC and curcumin against chloroquine (CQ) induced hepatotoxicity were studied
in female Wistar rats.
1. Tetrahydrocurcumin can better whiten effect than arbutin which can inhibit effectually oxygen free radicals.
2.Tetrahydrocurcumin can remove oxygen free radicals which has been generated, and have obvious antioxidant effect.
3. Tetrahydrocurcumin is often used in cosmetic area, and can whitening, removing freckles and antioxidant.
4. Tetrahydrocurcumin also has the function of Antitumor and anti atherosclerosis effect which is used as the bulk drug.

THC is widely used in various skin care products of skin-whitening, freckle, and anti-oxidation, such as creams, lotions and essence.

Preparation method:
1-Add Group A ingredients to water, use ultrasonic high-speed dispersion. The ultrasonic frequency is 20-40 KHZ,
Dispersion speed is about 5000-5400r/min, The dispersal time is 30-60min.
2-Add Lubrajel oil, then use ultrasonic high-speed dispersion, the ultrasonic frequency is 20-35khz, the dispersion
speed is about 4800-5200r/min, and the dispersion time is 30-50min.
3-Add Blackberrglily Rhizome Extract, use ultrasonic high-speed dispersion. The ultrasonic frequency was 20-30khz,
the dispersion speed was about 4,600-4800r /min, and the dispersion time was 20-40mi. Then mix evenly the above
solution to get the lotion.

4-Tetrahydrocurcumin Using Tips in Cosmetics Formulation:

 

a-Adopt stainless steel vessel when preparing cosmetics; avoid contact with metals, such as iron and copper;

b-Dissolve first using a solvent, then add to emulsion at 40°C or lower temperature;

c-The pH of the formulation is recommended to be slightly acidic, preferably between 5.0 and 6.5;

d-Tetrahydrocurcumin is very stable in 0.1M phosphate buffer;

e-Tetrahydrocurcumin can be gelled by using thickeners including carbomer, lecithin;

f-Suitable for preparation into skin care products such as creams, gels and lotions;

g-Act as preservative and photo-stabilizers in cosmetic formulations; the recommended dosage is 0.1-1%;

h-Dissolve in ethoxydiglycol (a penetration enhancer); partially soluble in ethanol and isosorbide; soluble in propylene

glycol at a ratio of 1:8 at 40°C; insoluble in water and glycerin.
