Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate, commonly known as green alum, is an inorganic compound. It is
mainly used in the manufacture of iron salt, ink, magnetic iron oxide, water purifying agent,
disinfectant, iron catalyst and catalyst; It is used as coal dye, grass tanning agent, bleaching
agent, wood preservative and compound fertilizer additive, as well as processing ferrous sulfate
monohydrate.

1.Water treatment
Ferrous sulfate is used for the flocculation and purification of water and to remove phosphate from
urban and industrial sewage to prevent eutrophication of water bodies.
2.Reducing agent
A large amount of ferrous sulfate is used as a reducing agent, mainly reducing chromate in cement.
3.Coloring agent
a.The production of iron tannate ink and other inks requires ferrous sulfate. The mordant for wood
dyeing also contains ferrous sulfate.
b Ferrous sulfate can be used to stain concrete into a yellow rust color.
c.Carpentry uses ferrous sulfate to dye maple with silver color.
4.Agriculture
Adjust the pH of the soil to promote the formation of chlorophyll (also known as iron fertilizer), which
can prevent yellowing of flowers and trees caused by iron deficiency. It is an indispensable element
for acid-loving flowers and trees, especially iron trees.
