The waterjet cutting machine is a cutting equipment that uses ultra-high pressure water jets for cold cutting. It is mainly composed of a high-pressure pump, a CNC machining platform, a jet cutting head, a sand supply system and a cooling system.
A set of CNC waterjet cutting machine (waterjet for short) consists of three parts: ultra-high pressure water jet generator (high pressure pump), CNC machining platform, jet cutting head, sand supply system and cooling system.
1. Ultra-high pressure water jet generator (high pressure pump)
As the power source of the waterjet, a common technical solution is a hydraulic motor driving a supercharger to generate an ultra-high pressure water jet. The pressure of ordinary tap water is raised to tens to hundreds of MPa (1 MPa is approximately equal to 10 bar), and it is ejected through a beam nozzle with extremely high kinetic energy.
2. CNC machining platform
The CNC waterjet is mainly used for cutting flat plates. The cutting platform uses rolling linear guides and ball screws as transmissions. Under the precise control of the CNC program and the control motor, the X-axis and Y-axis can be moved individually or in two-axis linkage to drive the cutting head to achieve linear and arbitrary curve cutting.
3. Jet cutting head
The high-pressure pump can realize the cutting function only through the beam nozzle. The nozzle aperture size determines the pressure level and flow rate. At the same time, the nozzle also has an energy gathering effect.
There are two basic forms of jet cutting heads: one is for pure water cutting, and the other is for cutting with abrasives. The cutting head with abrasive cutting is based on the pure water cutting head, plus an abrasive mixing cavity and a hard nozzle.

1. Strong versatility, almost all materials can be cut;
2. The water jet is cold cutting, which will not produce thermal effects, deformation, slag, or ablation during cutting, and will not change the physical and chemical properties of the material;
3. Small kerf, coupled with the characteristics of cooling and cutting, can improve material utilization;
4. The cutting medium is only water and natural abrasives, and no other substances are produced during the cutting process. It is a clean and environmentally friendly cutting process;
5. After cutting, the cutting surface is neat and smooth, without any damage to the object being cut during the cutting process, and can perform many cutting operations that cannot be achieved by cutting tools.
Common failure analysis
1. There is no high pressure and low pressure, but the commutation is normal.
(1) Check whether the tap water supply is cut off or the water pressure is too low;
(2) Check whether the water pump is normal;
(3) Check whether the jewel nozzle is normal (the water jet diverges obviously);
(4) Check whether there is oil leakage or water leakage in the peep hole after the baffle plate (water leakage indicates that the dynamic seal of the high pressure chamber is damaged; oil leakage indicates that the dynamic seal of the cylinder baffle plate is damaged.);
(5) Check whether the water inlet check valve is invalid (the water inlet pipe has obvious return water);
(6) Check whether the water outlet check valve is invalid (the hand feels obviously hot at the check valve);
(7) Check whether the high-pressure plunger rod is broken (remove the inlet and outlet pipes and the water outlet check valve, insert a thin steel wire into the high-pressure cylinder, probe the plunger rod, turn on the motor oil pump, and observe whether the steel wire is ejected. No top If the moving distance is small, it indicates that the plunger rod has broken).
1. There is no high pressure or low pressure, and the commutation time is too long or no commutation:
(1) If the direction is not changed and the oil pressure is high, push the solenoid valve stem at either end of the direction change valve by hand;
(2) Adjust the position of the Hall switch (slightly move the Hall switch towards the cylinder);
(3) Check whether the reversing Hall switch is normal;
(4) Check whether the electrical part of the reversing valve is normal, and confirm whether the flow rate of the oil pump has been adjusted (too small);
(5) Confirm whether the flow rate of the overflow valve has been adjusted (too much);
(6) Check whether the spool of the reversing valve is blocked or worn;
(7) Check whether the piston seal in the oil cylinder is damaged
