Product IntroductionMcCoy's 5A modified medium is a general-purpose medium, originally designed by Thomas McCoy and others specifically for Novikoff Hepatoma cells. Compared with other media, McCoy's 5A modified contains high concentrations of D-glucose, bacterial peptone, and reduced glutathione. McCoy's 5A modified is suitable for the cultivation of many types of primary cells, such as cells from bone marrow, skin, kidney, spleen, lung, rat embryo, omentum and other tissues. In addition, it is also used for tissue biopsy culture, cell line establishment, and some lymphocytes and cells that are difficult to culture.
This product contains amino acids, vitamins, inorganic salts and other ingredients required for cell culture. It does not contain protein or growth factors. It is necessary to add 5-10% serum or serum-free additives according to the cell type.
This product is sterilized through a 0.1 μm filter membrane, pH 7.0-7.4, contains 16.67 mM D-glucose, added 1.5 mM L-glutamine, contains phenolred indicator, does not contain sodium BT, contains 25 mM HEPES buffer system .
HEPES is a commonly used biological buffer, which can keep the culture medium in a constant pH range for a long time and effectively prevent large fluctuations in the pH of the culture fluid from adversely affecting cell growth.
