Application and Uses of L-arginine

L-arginine is an amino acid that has been shown to have significant cardiac benefits. It has demonstrated ability to improve blood flow in coronary arteries.
It does this by helping to produce nitric oxide (NO), a gas your body produces that enhances the flow of blood to your arteries and veins. It is a potent vasodilator and optimizes the flow of blood and transport of oxygen to all the cells and tissues of your body by supporting the health of your blood vessels.

L-arginine plays a role in many cardiovascular functions, including relaxing the muscles in coronary arteries, lowering blood pressure, reducing symptoms associated with claudication-pain, usually in the extremities due to a lack of blood flow-and helps restore circulation in Raynaud's phenomenon (fingers become pale, occasionally turn blue in cold temperatures). Additionally, arginine has been shown to reduce blood stickiness in people with high cholesterol and stabilize angina.
