 3. It is used to make Ga yttrium garnet (Gd: Y3Al5O12); it has microwave applications, can be used to make various optical components, and is used as a substrate for magneto-optical films.
 4. For artificial diamond and computer bubble storage. It can also be used as an electrolyte in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC).
