1. Wear resistant steel plate:

Medium/low carbon steel+abrasion resistant layers→wear resistant steel plate with metallurgical bonding,Q235/Q345B+Chromium Carbide overlay→wear resistant composite plate with Submerged arc or Open arc welding

2. Process: All kinds of Liners are made of wear resistant steel plate by cutting, bending, punching, bolting and welding.According to customer's drawings.

5. Detail: overlay alloy has a high amount of chromium carbide hard particle. These particle are distributed evenly throughout the layer, creating a strong microstructure. The hardness is HRC 55~65 and depends on the overlay's  thickness.

The main ingredients of Wodon plate are C(%): 3.0 to 5 and Cr(%): 25~40. This chemical proportion results in a large amount of chrome carbide hard particles. The micro-hardness (up to HV1800) of these particles throughout  will guarantee a super wear resistant surface.

Wodon wear plates are used to make many complex wear parts to be positioned in high wear places. We have several equipment to transform our plates: six of CNC automatic plasma cutting machine, 4 multi functional bending machines and pressing machines, with high processing capacity operated  by engineers and technical experts. We can provide wear plate cutting, bending, punching and welding according to customer's drawings

Our company R&D producted bimetallic wear plate have four different types:

1. generally wear plate with Open arc welding: base plate + chromium carbide abrasion resistant welding layer with good abrasion resistance, Hardness HRC 55-63 (HV 600-780) and chemical compostion C: 2.5-5.0 % Cr: 20-30 %

2. super wear plate with Submerged arc welding: base plate + high chromium carbide abrasion resistant welding layer with super good abrasion resistance, Hardness HRC 58-65  (HV 600-780) and chemical compostion C: 3.0-5.5% Cr: 25-40%

3. wear plate with Impact resistance: base plate + chromium matrix with other metallelementes resistant welding layer with good impact resistance and super good abrasion resistance

4. wear plate with Heat  resistance: base plate + chromium matrix with other metallelementes resistant welding layer with good heat resistance (up to 900 °C) and super good abrasion resistance.
 

What is Wodon wear plate?

Wodon wear resistant steel plates are manufactured by welding one or multiple abrasion resistant layers on a medium or low carbon steel base plate. The overlay alloy has a high amount of chromium carbide hard particles. These particles are distributed evenly throughout the layer, creating a strong microstructure. The hardness is HRC 58~65 and depends on the overlay's thickness.

The main ingredients of Wodon plate are C (%): 3.0~5.0 and Cr (%): 25~40. This chemical proportion results in a large amount of Cr7C3 chrome carbide hard particles. The micro-hardness (up to HV1800) of these particles thoughout the layer will guarantee a super wear resistant surface.

The overlay and base plate are metallurgical bonding. The overlay will penetrate into base plate about 0.8~1.8 mm, reaching up to 350 Mpa in our tests.

In the picture there are many cracks, please don't worry. The wear resistant steel plate is not broken and the cracks are good to release the thermal stress. Wodon wear plate is composed of many welding beads and the overlay contains a series of evenly spaced hairlike cracks (The cracks are distributed throughout the overlay thickness, but end up on the base plate's surface). These transversely distributed cracks relief the structure's tension improving wear resistant steel plate's performance like mechanical properties and the overlay don't fall off the base.

The wear resistant overlay and base plate are metallurgical bonding. The overlay will penetrate into base plate about 0.8~1.8 mm by welding heat. In our tests are the bonding strength reaching up to 350 MPa. The above picture shows the welding fusion line of Submerged arc welding.

We have our own Quality Inspection Technology Department and the team are made of many experience exports with material science bachelor-degree and the leaders with material science master-degree. In the pictures you can also see our equipment in our laboratory. Our inspection team make regular testing on raw material, production process and our products according our company's strict policy.

In our Laboratory there are the Rockwell Hardness tester to test the Hardness of the small welding samples, the portable Spectrum to test the chemical compostion easily at the work pieces on the scene, the portable Hardness tester to test the Hardness easily at the work pieces on the scene and the portable ultrasonic thickness measurement instrument to test the thickness easily and accurate.
There are also abrasion resistance testing machine and a series of metallograhy experiment instruments, so the metallurgical microstructure and wear resistance can be tested.

The below picture shows our laboratory. There are many equipments to suppert our Quality Inspection Technology Department, for sample: a series of metallographic analysis equipments, protable spectrum, protable ultrasonic thickness tester, protable ultrasonic hardness tester, destop Rockwell hardness tester, Infrared carbon sulfur analyzer, Quartz sand rubber wheel abrasion test machine and Reciprocating abrasion tester.

Bimetallic Wearable Lining Plate Bucket Excavator

1. General Description
  • The wear plate is manufactured by depositing high chromium, wear resistant materials on the mild steel base plate using open arc or submerged arc welding process.
  • Consistent wear resistance guaranteed from surface down to 75% depth of the overlay.
  • The volume fraction of primary carbides is maintained between 30 to 50% to provide a good combination of wear resistance and homogenous bonding. 
  • Plate hardness ranges from HRC58-65. The hardness is tested on machined flat surface just below overlay surface.
  • Fine cracks perpendicular to the welding bead is normal due to natural stress relieving in a very hard matrix.
  • Staggered cracking pattern on overlay surface contributes to good formability.
  • The wear plate is suitable for severe wear and moderate impact applications.

Wodon plate is widely used in the mining, power plant, port, cement, steel plant, glass, waste handling, glass, dredging, pulp and paper industries. Some applications are as below:

4. Fabrication
The backing mild steel plate provides Wodon overlay plates with structural integrity, which makes our overlay plates fabricated without damage to welding overlay, regardless of the shape and complexity of the structure. Wodon has the capabilities to manufacture and further process such fabrications or to supply formed, read-to-go wear liners.
  • Cutting:  Wodon overlay plates could be cut by plasma, water-jet, laser. Plasma cutting is the recommended method for cutting our plate
