The AGK 2000 is an instrument designed by Palas gmbh for aerosol generation . The
aerosol generated depends on the type of aerosol diluted in the water solution inside the
instrument. In the case of the NextPM CR, we use only spherical monodisperse
polystyrene particles of 0.3 and 0.5 µm (micrometers). The aerosols generated at the exit
of the AGK are still wet but then are diluted and dried with air zero before being
introduced inside the climate chamber. The climatic chamber used here is regulated in
temperature and relative humidity, 22 °C and 50 % RH. Inside the chamber, another
chamber in plexiglass, not regulated in RH is used to reduce the total volume in order to
obtain a more reactive system. The NextPM CR is placed inside the chamber in
plexiglass, where the aerosols are directly injected. The NextPM CR is connected to a
computer for data acquisition. An external alimentation is used to power supply the
sensor with 5 VDC. In addition, the reference instrument used (Fidas Frog) to measure the
particles concentration is placed next to the plexiglass chamber with an antistatic tubing
connection

inspired from the standard ISO 21 501-4 to meet the requirement of clean room monitoring as
specified in the ISO 14 644-2.
