Tabular alumina is a pure sintered corundum with complete shrinkage without adding any additives such as MgO and B2O3. It has the characteristics of coarse crystal and good development α- Al2O3 crystal structure, the content of Al2O3 is more than 99%. The plate-like crystal structure has small pores and many closed pores, and the porosity is roughly the same as that of fused corundum. It has high purity, good volume stability and minimal reheating shrinkage. The refractory or castable used for production has good thermal shock stability and bending strength after high temperature treatment, but the price is higher than that of other alumina.

Application

Tabular alumina can be used as the main component in aluminum carbon, aluminum magnesium carbon, magnesium aluminum carbon, magnesium spinel and aluminum chromium refractory bricks, and can also be introduced into high aluminum amorphous refractory as enriched alumina.   Tabular alumina is favored by many refractory enterprises for its excellent characteristics such as stable chemical performance, good thermal shock stability, erosion resistance and good particle toughness. 2. Erosion resistance

Mohs hardness is 9, which is equivalent to diamond, with high toughness, not easy to fracture, erosion resistance and corrosion resistance.

Application and technical parameters of tabular alumina

As a refractory, tabular alumina has the largest consumption and the best performance in the refractory industry.

1. Unshaped refractory

Mainly castables, such as iron hook castables and ladle castables. At present, 80% of the formula of large ladle castable is plate corundum, including aggregate and powder.

2. Shaped refractory

Permeable brick, sliding plate, nozzle, stopper and nozzle seat brick. 80% of the formula is plate-shaped corundum, including aggregate and powder.

3. Chemical industry

3 to 6 mesh particles are mainly used, which are called inert particles in chemical plants. They are evenly mixed with catalyst particles and used as catalyst bed for chemical gas to pass through and react with catalyst. The main purpose is to support and heat conduction of catalyst.
