DM-flex 259 Construction Polyurethane sealant

DM-flex 259 is a one-component, moisture curing, elastic joint polyurethane adhesive and sealing compound of permanent elasticity, based on polyurethane. It is suitable for outdoor applications.

Applications
Universal joint sealing compound for building construction, e.g.
1) As an elastic sealant for movement joints:

Precast concrete construction.
Balcony parapets.
Bridge cantilevers.
Retaining walls.
Subways

2) As an elastic joint sealer/caulking for:

Window frames and doors.
Skirtings.
Wall/floor joints.
Shutter housings.

Advantages

Excellent adhesion on all cement-based materials, brick, ceramics, glass, metals, wood, epoxy, polyester and acrylic resin.
Fast cure rate.
Good weathering and water resistance.
Non-corrosive.
Can be painted over with water, oil, and rubber-based paints. (Preliminary tests recommended).
High tear resistance.
Low temperature resistance, in the range of -40 ºC ~ 90 ºC, can maintain good flexibility and adhesion.

Application tips

1. The bonded surface must be clean, dry and free of putty before bonding.

2. Substrates that may seep out of oil are not suitable for direct application of sealant.

3. For rusted or corroded metal surfaces (such as aluminum oxide, copper, iron oxide rust surface), in order to
ensure the bonding effect, the rust on the surface layer needs to be worn off before coating.

4. Due to the construction environment, construction methods, and material differences, pre-testing is required before use to ensure adhesion performance.

5. The optimal coating temperature is +15 ~ +40°C. When the temperature is low, the extrusion resistance increases, warm up the adhesive before use.
