SR937 High Modulus Mirror Adhesive

SR937 High Modulus Mirror Adhesive is a high performance, one component, environmentally friendly, neutral cure silicone sealant that reacts with atmospheric moisture at room temperature to form a elastic silicone rubber. Excellent adhesion to mirror back coatings, glass, coated glass, metal, plastic parts, tiles, masonry, concrete, etc. SR937 High Modulus Mirror Adhesive is easy to apply and will provide a safe, strong and durable bond to most types of mirrors.

FEATURES & BENEFITS:
• Single component
 Ready to use
Non-slumping
High modulus
• Waterproof and long service life
• Stable and flexible from low (-50°C) to high temperatures (+150°C)
• Excellent heat resistance and moisture resistance
• Resistance to ozone, ultraviolet radiation and extreme temperatures
• Non-corrosive to the mirror coating material and good adhesion

APPLICATIONS:
• SR937 Mirror Adhesive is specifically designed to bond mirrors onto various substrates, such as ceramic tiles, metal plates, painted surfaces, wood and other substrates.

QUALITY ASSURANCE:
• This product has passed ISO9001/ISO14001 management system certification, and strictly in accordance with ISO9001 quality system requirements for production and control of product quality.

COLOUR:
 White

PACKAGING INFORMATION:
SR937 Mirror Adhesive is supplied in 300 ml disposable plastic cartridges and 200L drum bulk packaging.

USABLE LIFE AND STORAGE:
When stored at or below 27°C in the original unopened containers, it has a usable life of 12 months from the date of production.

LIMITATIONS:
When used with safety mirrors , first please make the adhesion test between SR937 High Modulus Mirror Adhesive with the plastic film.(single pane mirrors laminated with a plastic film at the back to prevent shattering of the glass when broken)
Do not use SR937 High Modulus Mirror Adhesive on bituminous based substrates.
Do not use onto substrates based on natural rubber, choloroprene or EPDM.
Do not use onto building materials which might bleed oils, plasticizers or solvents.
SR937 High Modulus Mirror Adhesive is not recommended for use in submerged applications or in applications where physical abuse of abrasion is likely to occur.
SR937 High Modulus Mirror Adhesive is not used for structural glazing or insulated glazing applications.
• Can not be used on surfaces intended to be painted
• Do not use SR937 High Modulus Mirror Adhesive in a totally confined space because the sealant requires atmospheric moisture to cure.

HOW TO USE:
• Surface Preparation
Ensure that surfaces where to be sealed are clean, dry, sound and free from grease, dust and other contaminants which could impair adhesion. Surfaces can be cleaned and degreased by wiping with a suitable solvent on a clean oil and lint-free cloth before application of sealant. (Suitable solvents include isopropyl alcohol, acetone or methyl ethyl ketone ). Check to ensure that the mirror has been evenly coated, is protected by lacquer and is free of scratches.

NOTE: When using flammable solvents, keep away from heat and open flames. Use only with adequate ventilation. Avoid prolonged or repeated skin contact.

Priming
Primers are not usually required on ceramic, glass and glazed surfaces. Users must carry out their own tests due to the great variety of substrates. The adhesion can be improved in many cases by
pretreatment of the substrates with a primer.

Applying sealant
The sealant is ready to use. Apply 10 mm wide strips vertically on the back of the mirror in 100 mm intervals. Then press the mirror onto the surface, preserving a constant bead thickness of 2 mm for optimum cure and mechanical grab. Support the mirror for a minimum of 24 hours using adhesive tapes. This will ensure good contact and a minimum of displacement. Air should be allowed to circulate freely around the edges of the mirror thereby allowing the sealant to cure.

Clean-up
Excess sealant may be cleaned off tools and non-porous surfaces whilst in an uncured state using suitable cleaner. If sealant is misapplied to porous substrates, it should be left until just cured, and then removed by peeling, cutting or other mechanical means. Care should be taken not to damage plastic or coated surfaces.

HANDLING PRECAUTIONS:
Before use, the user is responsible for performing application performance tests before use to achieve satisfactory results. In particular, some plastic hard-to-stick surfaces and coated substrates require a test for adhesion.
Applying temperature note: when the surface temperature of the material exceeds +50°C, it is prone to curing too fast or bubbling. At temperatures below 5°C, it is prone to slow curing, and at low temperatures, the surface of the construction material usually forms a layer of mist that may not be observed to affect the bonding effect. Dry with a clean and dry cloth before application or blow dry with an electric blower. Keep the working environment well ventilated and avoid excessive inhalation of volatile gases generated during the curing process.
