Description
Lactobacillus plantarum is a homofermentative fermented, gram-positive-aerotolerant bacteria, it can grow up at 15ºC, but the optimized growth temperature is 30-35ºC. As a typical Lactic Acid Bacteria, Its metabolism mechanism can produce large lactic acid, acetic acid, lactobacilli etc. It has the ability to destroy pathogens and to preserve critical nutrients, vitamins. It also has an unique ability to consume oxygen ultimately as the antioxidants. It can also produce lysine (a beneficial amino-acid), to deliver therapeutic compounds and proteins to the body etc.

White to light yellow-colored, free-flowing powder.
Morphology
It is a Gram-positive, aerotolerant, rod-shaped bacteria. Its genome is the largest among all lactic acid bacteria and has been fully sequenced.
