Product Description

Orlistat is a long-acting and potent inhibitor of gastrointestinal lipase. It is a white or quasi-white starch at room temperature, insoluble in water, soluble , and soluble in alcohol. Orlistat inactivates gastric lipase and pancreatic lipase by forming covalent bonds with the active serine parts of gastric lipase and pancreatic lipase in the lumen of the stomach and small intestine. Fat in food can not be decomposed into free fatty acids and monoacylglycerol, so fat can not be absorbed and used, so as to reduce the calorie intake of the human body and control weight. The drug does not need to be absorbed throughout the body to work. At the usual dose, fat absorption can be inhibited by 3Chemicalbook0%. It is rarely absorbed after oral administration and can be metabolically inactivated in the intestinal tract with a elimination half-life of about 14 to 19 hours in the gastrointestinal wall. About 97% of the product was excreted in feces, of which 83% was excreted in its original form. Orlistat can be used clinically in obesity and hyperlipidemia. In general, 120mg can be taken orally three times a day during or 1 hour after a meal. Weight loss may begin after 2 weeks. It may be taken continuously for 6 to 12 months, and its effect ceases to increase when the dose is increased above 400mg per day.
