Kojic acid, also known as aspergilic acid, guac acid, is an organic acid with antibacterial effect produced by aerobic fermentation of glucose by Aspergilus candida under 30 ~ 32ºC. Its molecular structure is gamma-pyranone with substitutive group. Among the gamma-pyranone compounds in nature, the famous compounds are only kojic acid and maltophenol.
