What is Stearic acid ?

Stearic acid, namely octadecanoic acid, has a simple structure: CH3(CH2)16COOH, which is produced by hydrolysis of oils and fats and is mainly used for the production of stearates.

Each gram is dissolved in 21 ml of ethanol, 5 ml of benzene, 2 ml of chloroform or 6 ml of carbon tetrachloride.

Application of Stearic acid

---Used as oil base drilling fluid emulsifier. It can also be used as lubricant and wetting agent for rubber
industry and textile industry.

---It is also used as the raw material of plastic plasticizer and stabilizer for natural rubber, synthetic
rubber (except butyl rubber) and latex.

It is used in the preparation of ointments, suppositories and so on. It is also used to make cosmetics,
candles, waterproofing agents, polish and so on. This product is used in the food industry as lubricant,
defoaming agent and food additive stearic acid glyceride, stearic acid sorbitol anhydride, sucrose ester
and other raw materials.
