Generic name isoniazid tablet

The main ingredient of this product is isoniazid.

1. Isoniazid is indicated in combination with other antituberculous agents for the treatment of all types of tuberculosis, including tuberculous meningitis and other mycobacterial infections.

2. Isoniazid alone is suitable for the prevention of various types of tuberculosis:

(1) Family members or close contacts of newly diagnosed TB patients.

(2) patients with strong positive PPD test and chest X-ray examination consistent with non-progressive tuberculosis, negative sputum bacteria, who have not received regular anti-tuberculosis treatment in the past.

(3) Patients undergoing immunosuppressive or long-term hormone therapy, certain blood diseases or reticuloendotheliosis (e.g., leukaemia, Hodgkin's disease), diabetes, uremia, silicosis or gastrectomy, and who have tested positive for tuberculin pure protein derivatives.

(4) Patients under 35 years of age who tested positive for tuberculin pure protein derivatives.

(5) known or suspected HIV-infected persons who have tested positive for tuberculin pure protein derivatives, or who have had close contact with patients with active tuberculosis.

Adverse reactions 1. The incidence of gait instability or numbness, tingling, burning or finger pain (peripheral neuritis).

4. Concurrent administration of cycloserine may increase central nervous system adverse reactions (e.g., dizziness or drowsiness). Dosage should be adjusted and signs of central nervous system toxicity closely observed, especially in patients performing tasks requiring high sensitivity.

5. The combination of rifampicin and isoniazid may increase the risk of hepatotoxicity, especially in patients with existing liver function damage or rapid acetylation of isoniazid. Therefore, close follow-up should be conducted for signs of hepatotoxicity during the first 3 months of treatment.

6. Isoniazid is an antagonist of vitamin B6. It can increase the output of vitamin B6 through the kidney, which may lead to peripheral neuritis.

7. When combined with adrenal corticosteroids (especially prednisolone), the metabolism and excrement of isoniazid in the liver can be increased, resulting in a decrease in the plasma concentration of isoniazid and thus affecting the efficacy, especially in rapid acetylation, so the dose should be adjusted appropriately.

8. When combined with alfentanil, isoniazid is an inhibitor of liver drug enzymes, which can prolong the action of alfentanil; Combined with Disulfiram, it can enhance the central nervous system, resulting in vertigo, discoordination, irritability, insomnia, etc. Combination with enflurane increases the formation of inorganic fluorometabolites with nephrotoxicity.

9. The combination with ethylthioisomide or other antituberculous drugs may aggravate the adverse reactions of the latter two drugs. Combination with other hepatotoxic agents may increase hepatotoxicity and should be avoided as far as possible.

10. Isoniazid should not be used in combination with ketoconazole or miconazole because it may reduce the blood concentrations of the latter two drugs.

11. When used with phenytoin sodium or aminophylline, the metabolism of phenytoin sodium or aminophylline in the liver can be inhibited, resulting in increased plasma concentration of phenytoin sodium or aminophylline. Therefore, the dose of phenytoin sodium or aminophylline should be adjusted appropriately when isoniazid is used together with the two.

12. When combined with acetaminophen, isoniazid can induce isohepatocyte cytochrome P450, resulting in an increase in the amount of toxic metabolites formed by isoniazid, which can increase hepatotoxicity and renal toxicity.

13. When used concurrently with carbamazepine, isoniazid can inhibit its metabolism, increase the blood concentration of carbamazepine, and cause toxic reactions; Carbamazepine can induce the microsomal metabolism of isoniazid and increase the formation of intermediate metabolites with hepatotoxicity.

14. This product should not be used together with other neurotoxic drugs to avoid increasing neurotoxicity.
