Introduction:
Avobenzone (Trade name: Parsol 1789, Eusolex 9020, Escalol 517, etc. INCI is Butyl and Methoxydibenzoylmethane, which is called USAN. As a fat-soluble component used in sunscreen products, it can absorb UVA at all bands (approx. 315 to 400 nm) and is a derivative of dibenzoyl methane (DBM). Among them, avobenzone had the highest UVA absorption at wavelength of 357 nm. Because it absorbs a wide range of UV light compared to other chemical sunscreens, it is widely used in many branded broad-spectrum sunscreens.
