What is silica gel?

Silica gel is a transparent, glass-like, granular particles, usually obtained by the reaction of sodium silicate and sulfuric acid, and after a series of processes such as aging and acid bubbles. Its main component is silica. As a desiccant, it has an average pore size of 2.4 nanometers and has a strong affinity for water molecules. It absorbs water through physical adsorption, does not change its state after absorbing moisture, and has a strong hygroscopic ability, which can effectively protect food or medicine from moisture.

Usage

1.  precision optical instruments, dry mouldproof packaging for electronic appliances,


2. silica gel may be placed in the leather, leather bags,  leather shoes for the effect of drying quality;


3.  for food drying, silica gel may be often seen placed in biscuits and Fried foods, to ensure that food crunch;

4.  for drying drugs, silica gel is often put inside a bottle, to ensure drug to extend the shelf life;

5.  for drying container, containers during the seafreight transportation in different latitude will form
