Description
Epistane is one of the newest designer steroids on the market today, and it is gaining attention very quickly. Epistane is actually a methylated version of the controlled substance Epitiostanol (2a.3a-epithio-17a-methyl etioallocholan-17b-ol ), which was created in the 1960's and used as a treatment for breast cancer. Since the only place Epitiostanol is only availabe at this time is in japan, chemists added a methyl group to the compund and the final product was a substance now known as Epistane. Epistane is a sulfur containing steroid which is known to have strong and long lasting anti-estrogenic activity as well as weak androgenic and mytropic activities.

Function

Epistane is a general term for a large class of cyclopental fused hydrogenated phenanthrene derivatives widely distributed in the biological world. Also known as steroids, steroids. 

Steroid compounds are free of bound fatty acids and are non-saponifying lipids; such compounds are classified as isoprenoids and are formed by tricyclic cyclization followed by intramolecular recombination and chemical modification.

Application

Epistane include sterols (such as cholesterol, lanosterol, sitosterol, sterol, ergosterol), bile acids and bile alcohols, steroid hormones (such as adrenocortical hormones, androgens, estrogens), insect ecdysone, Cardiac glycosides and saponins, as well as scorpion venom and the like.
