Lens protection and cleaning:

Clean is very important for optical lens, you d better have a good cleaning habit to clean the optical lens carefully, reduce or eliminate the pollution by human, such as finger and saliva. As a common sense, you should wear finger or gloves when touching the opticalsystem, cleaning, installing and removing.

You should always follow the cleaning lenses  notice and  requirements, The material can only be the suggested one(such as cleaning paper for optical lens, Cotton ball, Q-tips) and ethyl alcohol.

Any wrong lens cleaning during disassembly, installation will reduce the lenses life or permanent damage. When the lenses were contaminated, use washing ear ball to blow lens until no particles on the surface, do not blow through your mouth, because air mostly contain oil and water, they will further contaminated lenses. If there is still dirt, we must use the special cotton ball or Q-TIPS dipped in acetone, ethyl ether mixture to wipe gently, then you can remove most of the pollutants.

The pollution of the laser lens will cause serious affection to the Laser output power, and even cause data acquisition system make serious mistakes, if we are able to keep the lens clean, will undoubtedly extend the machines life.
