Ketoprofen is a non-selective NSAID which inhibits both human recombinant Cox-1 (IC50 of 0.5 μM) and Cox-2 (IC50of 2.33 μM). Ketoprofen is used for its antipyretic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting Cox-1 and Cox-2
(cyclooxygenase-1 and -2) enzymes reversibly, which decreases production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandin precursors.

Ketoprofen has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects, for rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoar-thritis, ankylosing spondylitis and gout.
