What is Trimethoprim HCl ?
1. The combination of this product and sulfonamides can double block the metabolism of bacterial folate and enhance its effect several to dozens of times. It has bactericidal effect and can reduce the production of resistant strains.
2. Drug interaction: TMP can enhance the antibacterial effect of tetracycline, penicillin, erythromycin, gentamicin, etc. when combined with berberine, the antibacterial effect of berberine is obviously enhanced, which is a broad-spectrum non selective antibacterial drug.
3. It is often used in respiratory tract, digestive tract, urogenital infection, septicemia, cellulitis, etc. in the proportion of 1:4-5 with sulfonamides. It can also be used in combination with other antibacterial drugs to achieve synergistic effect.
