Application areas:Anti-microbial agent EMP ABDO-120 is a durable antimicrobial agent for cellulosic textiles such as cotton, cotton blends and rayon, which gives improved freshness and hygiene by controlling the growth of microorganisms, generation of odor and degradation of fabric.
Application areas for EMP ABDO-120 include: Clothing- Towels, Bedding, Wipes and other Non Woven.
Product Features:
Heat stability, non-volatile and stable at elevated temteratures;
Easily used in the aqueous phase; Low foaming;
Broad spectrum of activity against a wide range of organisms;
Performance and durability:Powerful effects (evidenced by recognized test protocols such as AATCC 100) can be achieved at low usage levels, giving attractive cost benefits.
Appearance: Clear liquid;
Solubility: Soluble in water;
PH:     5.0~ 7.0;
Compatibility: Compatible with most finishing agents;
Ionicity: cationic;
Stability: Stable at room temperature.
Applications: EMP ABDO-120 can be applied to cotton, viscose or rayon (cellulosic fibres) from dilute aqueous solution using standard techniques such as padding and exhaust methods.
Padding:
EMP ABDO-120 can be applied to cellulosic fibers by padding after the fabric has been dyed or printed. A high temperature curing stage is not required. EMP ABDO-120 can be applied from the same bath as other finishes such as resins or softeners, however, compatibilities should be verified before proceeding with application of EMP ABDO-120. On bleached cotton it should be ensured that all residual bleach is destroyed before applying EMP ABDO-120. The solution of EMP ABDO-120 should be applied at pH 6-9.
Exhaust:
EMP ABDO-120 exhausts rapidly onto cellulosic fiber. Optimum conditions are neutral or slightly alkaline pH, for 20 to 30 minutes at 40ºC, with a typical liquor ratio of 10:1. Under these conditions and at a suitable application concentration it would be expected that almost all the EMP ABDO-120 will exhaust onto the cellulosic fiber, leaving very little in solution.
