Omeprazole is a medication used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also used to prevent upper gastrointestinal bleeding in people who are at high risk. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor and as such blocks the release of stomach acid.

Fuction:
1. peptic ulcer haemorrhage, anastomotic bleeding ulcer.
2. the State of stress with acute gastric mucosal damage, and non-steroidalanti-inflammatory drug-induced acute gastric mucosal injury;

5.Omeprazole is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions caused by excess stomach acid. It is not for immediate relief of heartburn symptoms.
6.Omeprazole is also used to promote healing of erosive esophagitis (damage to your esophagus caused by stomach acid).
7.Omeprazole may also be given together with antibiotics to treat gastric ulcer caused by infection with helicobacter pylori (H.pylori).
