Ampicillin Description

Ampicillin is a β-lactam antibiotic within the penicillin family. As a member of this family, Ampicillin is susceptible to β-lactamase, which hydrolyzes the β-lactam ring. This broad spectrum antibiotic is effective against gram-positive, gram-negative bacteria and anaerobic bacteria. Ampicillin is widely used in cell culture as a selective agent.

Ampicillin Function

This product is wide spectrum semisynthetic penicillin, the toxicity is extremely low.

Antibacterial spectrum and cyan Mycin is similar to penicillin, and is less effective against penicillin-sensitive bacteria and streptococcus aeruginosa.Similar to or slightly stronger than penicillin.
Against diphtheria bacillus tetanus bacillus and actinomyces Ben is the same as penicillin.The effect on enterococcus and listeria was better than benzathillin.
The resistance to Drug staphylococcus and other bacteria that can produce penicillin enzyme have no antibacterial effect.Negative for gram.The bacteria are effective but prone to drug resistance.
