LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber)
Board bonded together from 1.7mm rotated cut pine veneer. The boards can be cut and sawn into beams, slats or panels as required by the customer.

HC LVL product meet the requirement of AS/NZS 4257.0 standard. The certification was identified by Benchmark. The number is BMP721202.

With a three tier quality control program comprising; a detailed 'Manufacturing Specification' adhered to by trained staff; more than ten years experience quality control teams; and regular, detailed and recorded in laboratory testing on key quality requirements. HongCheng provides assurance of quality and consistency. All veneer in the manufacture is certified Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) from sustainable forests. The FSC number is BV-COC-145384.

LVL is produced in a continuous layup process from 1.7 mm veneers. This process optimally produces fairly thin, but wide and long beams, panels and studs cut from 1200-2500 mm wide billets. Maximum lengths 8 m depending on the production line. Due to the continuous process, the length can be individually specified for each billet. The minimum length is however limited to 2000 mm due to handling in the production process, so shorter components need to be cut separately. Standard widths are defined to minimize waste and to complement the dimensions of other building structures.

The thickness to height ratio of LVL standard beams is limited to 1:8 to ensure dimensional stability in normal building site humidity conditions. Weather exposure on one side of a beam may lead to cupping of higher beams. Here is our standard sizes available, these sizes are thus usually available in the shortest delivery times. LVL is easy to cut, so custom sizes are possible on separate request, making it an attractive option for many building systems. A more slender beam thickness to height ratio can be used if moisture conditions are controlled throughout the whole production chain, e.g. in off-site production of wooden roof elements for hall constructions.
