Rocuronium is a non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocker that is structurally similar to vecuronium and pancuronium. Like other non-depolarizing drugs, it competitively binds to cholinergic receptors on synapses at motor nerve terminals to antagonize the effects of acetylcholine. Depolarizing neuromuscular blocker succinylcholine (scoline) is widely used for endotracheal intubation due to its fast onset and short duration of action. However, it can produce a large number of adverse reactions and even cause serious complications. (For example, malignant hyperthermia, hyperkalemia leads to arrhythmia). Non-depolarizing neuromuscular blockers are safer than succinylcholine, but have slow onset and long duration of action, and have disadvantages in some applications. Rocuronium is fast acting in a dose-dependent manner. In non-depolarizing neuromuscular blockers, this product has the fastest onset and generally provides excellent conditions for intubation after 60 seconds of intravenous injection. This onset time is similar to or slightly longer than succinylcholine, but is twice as fast as vecuronium, tracrium, and mivacron.
Conventional endotracheal intubation is performed as an adjunct to general anesthesia, and the skeletal muscle is relaxed during surgery or mechanical breathing to facilitate surgical procedures and improve gas exchange of the body. Suitable for general anesthesia, skeletal muscle relaxation and endotracheal intubation.
Muscle relaxation medicine. The nondepolarizing neuromuscular blockers. (rocuronium bromide 119302-91-9 ) injection is a nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent with a rapid to intermediate onset depending on dose and intermediate duration. Rocuronium bromide is chemically designated as 1-[17β-(acetyloxy)-3α-hydroxy-2β-(4-morpholinyl)-5α-androstan-16β-yl]-1-(2propenyl)pyrrolidinium bromide.
