Description of Donepezil hydrochloride:

1.Donepezil hydrochloride is a kind of therapeutic drugs for Alzheimer's disease, which belongs to the second generation of acetylcholinesterase (CHE) inhibitors for the treatment of mild or moderate Alzheimer's disease patients.

2.It is believed that the pathogenesis of cognitive impairment in Alzheimer's disease is partly related to the low function of cholinergic neurotransmission. Donepezil can play a therapeutic role by enhancing the function of cholinergic nerve. It reversibly inhibits the hydrolysis of acetylcholine esterase, thereby increasing the concentration of acetylcholine at the receptor site.

Donepezil's Function:

Donepezil Hcl has been tested in other cognitive disorders including Lewy body dementia and vascular dementia, but it is not currently approved for these indications.
