Ditazepam is an orally synthesized 4-nitrogen sterol that is usually sold under the trade name Avodart. It is a new type of dual 5α-reductase inhibitor that can act by effectively, selectively and irreversibly blocking two isotypes of 5α-reductase. Type 1 I and type 2 5α-reductase converts DHT, which is a major hormone medium that plays a role in the development and expansion of the prostate. Dutasteride was approved by the FDA in 2001 for single-drug treatment of men with symptomatic prostatic hyperplasia(BPH), or used in conjunction with the α-epinephrine antagonist Tansoroxin to enhance efficacy. The clinical effect of it on benign prostatic hyperplasia in male patients with phenoxomide, a specific type II 5α-reductase inhibitor. However, unlike fnandromine, dtandromine has not been used to treat androgenic hair loss although it has not yet been demonstrated to be effective in some random, double-blind, placebo controlled trials of androgenic hair loss.
