Water-soluble, colorless crystals; Dehydrates below 300. C, melts at 1090. C; Used in tin plating, China-clay purification, dyeing, oil-drilling muds, and synthetic rubber production. Also known as normal potassium pyrophosphate, tetrapotassium pyrophosphate.
Potassium pyrophosphate has excellent chelating capability. It can form stable chelates with Ca2+ and Mg2+ in hard water to soften hard water, to increase washing capability, to remove dirt, and to form a layer of protection film on metal (like iron and other metals) surface preventing surface corrosion. P2O74- has strong dispersion capability to micro-dispersed solids, enabling homogenous mixture of tiny and fine matters. Its stable pH buffer capability maintains long-term solution pH value. Product is easy to dissolve in water, its solubility is 187 g/100mL at 25. C.
Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate is mainly used in plating without cyanide and bleaching leather products as stabilizer. Under two special conditions, potassium pyrophosphate must be utilized: First is heavy - dirt deterging in controlling foam; Second is cleaning metal surface. It is also adopted in detergent industry. Our Potassium Pyrophosphate complies with International Quality Standards and their quality and durability are fully guaranteed.
