LB solid medium (dry powder), namely LB broth AGAR medium premixed powder, is a mixture of BD peptone, Oxoid yeast powder, high purity AGAR powder and sodium chloride powder. Each bag is 100 mL, containing 1.0 g peptone, 0.5 g yeast powder, 1.0 g sodium chloride and 0.2 g AGAR powder. Used to prepare LB solid plates. We also provide agar-free LB liquid medium (dry powder) (G3102), which is commonly used in microbiology experiments.
 

Usage:

Each bag of LB solid medium (dry powder) was poured into a glass conical flask (150 mL volume) containing 100 mL water without waiting for dissolution, then the bottle mouth was sealed with cotton gauze and autoclaved at 121ºC for 20 min. When cooled to 50-60ºC, shake and mix it slightly, then pour it into sterile petri dishes to prepare LB solid plates. Antibiotics can be added according to experimental needs.

Notes:

1. This product is rich in nutrients. It is recommended to autoclave as soon as possible after being dissolved in water to avoid bacterial contamination.
2. The temperature of the medium for preparing the plate should not be too high, otherwise a large amount of condensed water will be generated on the plate after cooling.
3. When preparing the culture plate, it is recommended to operate in an ultra-clean bench to prevent bacterial contamination.
