Definition of activity: an active unit is the amount of enzyme required to synthesize 1nmol dTNP into poly-nucleotide fragments (adsorbed on DE-81) at 37 ºC for 10 minutes. 
Product description: AMV Reverse transcriptase (RT) is a recombinant avian myeloblastoma reverse transcriptase expressed by E. coli. 
AMV RT is a heterodimer consisting of two different subunits (alpha and beta subunits). 
AMV RT has a variety of activities, including RNA and DNA-dependent DNA polymerase activity, DNA-RNA unwinding activity, sequence-specific Mn2+-dependent endonuclease activity and RNase H (retention activity at 45-60 ºC. Therefore, reversible transcription contains a large number of secondary structure RNA. 
Features: optimized active temperature range: 45-50 ºC; high thermal stability, reverse transcription temperature up to 60 ºC; efficient synthesis of 13kb-long first strand cDNA; and incorporation of modified nucleotides. 
Functional testing: first chain cDNA synthesis and RT-PCR. 
Preservation buffer components: 200mM potassium phosphate, 2mM DTT, 0.2% (Vamp V) Triton XMUE 100 and 50% (Vamp V) glycerol (PH7.2). 
5 × AMV RT buffer: 250mM Tris-HCL (PH8.5,25 ºC), 40mM MgCL2, 150mM KCL, 5mM DTT. 
Deactivation: when heated at 85 ºC for 5 minutes, it will be deactivated.

Inhibitors include metal chelating agents and inorganic phosphates. 
Sodium pyrophosphate can reduce the activity of AMV RT, but when its concentration ≤ 4mM, it can increase the yield of full-length cDNA.
