Properties: white or white like powder, a non-specific serine protease related to subtilisin, derived from Candida albicans (. Tritirachium album.), with high specific activity. EDTA or SDS can not inactivate protease K, but enhance and stabilize the enzyme activity, and it has activity in a wide range of pH (ph4-12.5). In tissue or cell nucleic acid separation, nuclease (RNA and DNA) and other enzymes in the reaction are inactivated.

Purpose: biochemical research. The broad-spectrum protease was completely inactivated when heated at 95C for 10 minutes. Instead of DEPC, it can be used to treat the centrifuge tube and gun head for RNA extraction to inactivate RNase A and also to treat the water of RNase free. It can fully degrade protein molecules, especially nucleic acids in tissues or cells, so as to release and extract high-quality nucleic acids. It can be used for the separation of plasmid or genomic DNA and RNA and the experiment of protein peptide imprinting.
