Tilmicosin is an over-the-counter drug, a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic for livestock and poultry developed in the 1980s, with a molecular weight of 869.15. Tylosin is reacted with 3,5-dimethylpiperidine to generate tilmicosin base, and then phosphoric acid and water are added to form tilmicosin phosphate, which is a mixture of cis and trans isomers. Tilmicosin is a very active product obtained by the amination reaction of aldehyde group after the study of tylosin desugar. The amination reaction adopts the Wallach reaction with formic acid as a catalyst, and can obtain high yield Tilmicosin, a semi-synthesized animal and poultry antibiotic from a hydrolysate of tylosin, is used as a phosphate for medicine. This product has inhibitory effects on gram-positive bacteria, some gram-negative bacteria, mycoplasma, spirochetes, etc.; it has stronger antibacterial activity than tylosin against Actinomyces pleuropneumoniae and Pasteurella. It is used to prevent and treat domestic animal pneumonia (caused by infection of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella, Mycoplasma, etc.), avian mycoplasmosis and mastitis in lactating animals.Application & Function
1.Telmicorin phosphate is mainly used in respiratory diseases caused by actinomycetes pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella haemolyticus, Pasteurella multocida and livestock and poultry.
2.The antibacterial effect of tilmicosin phosphate is similar to tylosin. It is mainly against Gram-positive bacte
ria and mycoplasma, and is also effective against a few Gram-negative bacteria. Its activity against Actino
bacillus pleuropneumoniae, mycoplasma of livestock and poultry and Pasteurella is stronger than tylosin.
Clinically, it is used to treat infectious diseases caused by sensitive bacteria in cattle, goats, sheep, dairy
cows, pigs, chickens and other animals.
