Needle roller bearing types: can be divided into two structures with inner ring (NA) and without inner ring (RNA). 
 
1. Needle roller bearings with stamped outer rings. There are two types: perforated and sealed. Scope of application: Stamped outer ring needle roller shafts with cages are mostly used in gearboxes of machine tools, automobiles, and motorcycles or textile machinery. The stamped ferrule needle roller bearings without cage are used in the frame of the aircraft and the shaft end of the main wing of the missile.
 
2. Entity ferrule needle roller bearings Scope of application: mostly used in machine tools and automobile gearboxes. 
 
3. Roller needle roller bearings Scope of application: printing machinery, pasture machinery, agricultural machinery, rollers for guide rails of CNC equipment, conveyor lines, etc. 
 
4. Needle roller and cage assembly. Scope of application: mostly used for large and small ends of connecting rods of gearboxes, motorcycles and automobiles

 

Compared to ball bearings and ordinary roller bearings, needle bearings have a greater surface area in contact with the races, so they can support a greater load. They are also thinner, so they require less clearance between the axle and the surrounding structure.
