             Josamycin is a white or yellowish white crystalline powder, odorless and bitter in taste. It is easily soluble in ethanol, ether and chloroform, and very slightly soluble in water and petroleum ether.The molecular formula is C42H69NO15 and the molecular weight is 828.Clinically, it is mainly used for infection of respiratory system, otolaryngology department, dermatology department and biliary tract caused by sensitive bacteria.
