Amoxicillin Clavulanic acid Oral Suspension

Active ingredient: Amoxicillin trihydrate(BP) and Clavulanic acid as potassium salt (BP).
Amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium for oral suspension is a combination penicillin- class antibacterial and beta-lactamase inhibitor indicated in the treatment of infections due to susceptible isolates of the designated bacteria in the conditions listed below*:
a. Lower Respiratory Tract Infections
- caused by beta-lactamase-producing isolates of Haemophilus influenzae and Moraxella catarrhalis.

b. Acute Bacterial Otitis Media
- caused by beta-lactamase-producing isolates of H. influenzae and M. catarrhalis.

c. Sinusitis
- caused by beta-lactamase-producing isolates of H. influenzae and M. catarrhalis.

d. Skin and Skin Structure Infections
- caused by beta-lactamase-producing isolates of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella species.

e. Urinary Tract Infections
- caused by beta-lactamase-producing isolates of E. coli, Klebsiella species, and Enterobacter species.

f. Limitations of Use
- When susceptibility test results show susceptibility to amoxicillin, indicating no beta-lactamase production, amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium for oral suspension should not be used.

Amoxicillin Oral Suspension
Amoxicillin for oral suspension, USP contain amoxicillin, a semisynthetic antibiotic, an analog of ampicillin, with a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms.

Composition:
No. 1. Each 5ml contains Ampicillin Trihydrate equivalent to Ampicillin 125mg.
No. 2. Each 5ml contains Ampicillin Trihydrate equivalent to Ampicillin 250mg.
Indications:
Infections due to susceptible organisms.

Ampicillin oral suspension is a penicillin antibiotic. It is used to treat certain kinds of bacterial infections. It will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.
