Racecadotril is an enkephalase inhibitor, which can selectively and reactively inhibit enkephalase, thereby protecting endogenous enkephalins from degradation and prolonging the physiological activity of endogenous enkephalins in the digestive tract. In the peripheral tissues, the oral racecadotrix was rapidly hydrolyzed into a more effective enkephalin inhibitor acetophen. The inhibitory effect of acetophene on enkephalase increases the utilization of opioids, activates opioid receptors in the intestinal tract, and leads to the decrease of cAMP mucosal level, thus reducing the excessive secretion of water and electrolytes. Moreover, the drug ACTS on peripheral enkephalin, does not affect the activity of enkephalinase in the central nervous system, and has no obvious effect on gastrointestinal peristalsis and basic secretion of the intestinal tract, so it is effective and quick and safe to take.
