Description: 
 
It is the leaves of loquat belonged to rosaceae plant. It is green arbor or shrub. Its leaves are alternative and long oval-shaped or inverted ovate. There are scattered sawtooth on the edge. There are many fold in the front of base.There are thick and rusty nap behind the base. It is fostered all over the world, and wildly grows in SiChuan and HuBei province .It can be picked all the year.
 
Ursolic acid, formerly known as Ursolic Acid. High content of ursolic acid for the shiny prismatic (anhydrous ethanol) or fine hair-like needle crystal (dilute ethanol), low content of brown or yellow-green powder, with a special smell, is present in a natural plant Pentacyclic triterpenoid compounds. The melting point of 283 ~ 288 ºC. Specific rotation  D25 +67.5 ºC (C = 1,1mol / L potassium hydroxide in alcohol solution). At 15 ºC, 1 mL of ethanol (99%) dissolves 10 mg and 1 mL of boiling solution dissolves 45 mg. Still soluble in methanol, acetone, pyridine, do not dissolve in water and petroleum ether.
