Static var Generator is a typical power electronic equipment. SVG reactive power compensation consists of three basic functional modules: detection module, control operation module and compensation output module. Principle:
Svg reactive power compensation adopts IGBT to form a self commutating bridge circuit, which is connected to the power grid through a reactor in parallel. The amplitude and phase of the output voltage at the AC side of the bridge circuit can be properly adjusted, or the current at the AC side can be directly controlled. Quickly absorb or send out the required reactive power to realize the purpose of fast dynamic regulation of reactive power. As an active compensation device, SVG can not only track the impulse current of impulse load, but also track the harmonic current.
The voltage source inverter consists of two parts: DC capacitor and inverter bridge, in which the inverter bridge consists of a semiconductor device IGBT which can be turned off.
In SVG reactive power compensation, the amplitude and phase of DC inverter to AC voltage can be controlled by adjusting the switch of IGBT device in the inverter bridge. Therefore, the whole device is equivalent to a phase modulation power supply.
