1. How do your machines reduce food waste?
The machines don't really reduce or eat the food waste, but the microorganisms inside of the machines do. These tiny microorganisms are working similar to microorganisms in our intestines. They cannot be seen by eyesight, but they do exist and work hard.

2. Are the microorganisms safe?
Yes, they are safe for sure. They do not cause disease, nor do they be harmful to draining systems. The microorganisms boost the population of beneficial bacteria in effect, and there would be beneficial effects in the system actually.

3. Does the machine grind or chop the food waste?
No, the machine does not grind or chop the food waste, but gradually digests the food waste into small pieces.

4. What can I put into the machine?
The machine is designed to process a wide range of food waste types like, fruit, vegetables, cooked and uncooked meat and poultry, fish, dairy, bakery items, etc.

5. What CAN'T I put into the machine?
The machine cannot process anything that is not food waste and cannot be easily broken down such as large bones, mussel and clam shells, pineapple tops, packaging, general waste or cutlery. Placing the wrong items into the machine could cause damage and could void the warranty.

6. Can I put hot soups or frozen foods in the machine?
No. Please make them to room temperature before adding. If very hot or very cold food waste is added, it could kill the microorganisms that breakdown the food waste.

7. How long can the hatch door be open for?
As short as you can. It is best to have your sorted food waste (out of all plastic and packaging) ready to be fed into the machine before opening the door. Long time opening will cause the core temperature of the machine to come down. The microorganisms thrive in a consistently warm environment. Over exposure to cold temperatures might kill the microorganisms.

8. How often and how much can I feed my machine?
Two to four times a day with normal quantity each time. The key to Sunefun machines' success is the balanced feeding. Like our stomachs, If we feed too much at once, it takes longer to digest. A balanced diet is the best way to allow Sunefun machine to be most effective.

9. Why is there wood dust in the machine?
The wood dust is the place where the microorganisms live. The wood media will be taken out some when the machine is nearly full, but don't worry; food waste fibers will fulfill the void place.

10. How much water is consumed and discharged per day?
No water is consumed and nearly no water discharged. The only discharging water is the water from steams, which is negligible.

11. What is the warranty on the machine?
Each machine comes with one year limited warranty.

12. What can I do to keep the machine running at 100%?
Keeping the machine fed and clean is the most important. Daily inspections and removal of any in-organic materials that may have accidentally been added to the machine is suggested.

13. When should i get composted waste out?
Get some out when it is nearly full. However, please keep half at least inside when you take the composted waste out.

14. How long should i add the microorganisms?
Every 6 months generally. If the digesting efficiency is still good, it can be longer, even more than a year.
