Roflumilast has antiinflammatory effects and is under development as an orally administered drug for the treatment ofinflammatory conditions of the lungs such as asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
It is a selective phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) (IC50 = 0.8 nM) inhibitor. Inhibition of PDE4 prevents the hydrolysis of
