1. Cyanotis Arachnoidea Extract is able to suppress hepatic glucose formation and thus lower blood sugar levels independent of insulin secretion and serum levels. It can induce Akt phosphorylation in liver cells.
2. Its main component Beta-ecdysterone has a significant ability to stimulate the muscle cells to synthetise protein by raising amino acid to synthetise protein, quickly, potently, and for a fairly long time.
3. Stabilize the state of damaged cells under the influence of cortisol (high level cortisol would cause increased blood sugar, increased appetite, weight gain, hyposexuality, and extreme fatigue), normalize the steps of energy synthesis (ATP and creatine) and improve the liver function so that the body can quickly adapt to the changes in the environment and stress. No interactions with hormones in this effect.
Also Beta-ecdysterone shows some promise as being cholesterol lowering agents, through increased conversion of cholesterol into bile acids. This effect is found at 2.5mg/kg bodyweight.
