Antler (deer antler), refers to the young horn of sika deer or red deer, which is not ossified and hairy. It is a rare Chinese herbal medicine.
Velvet antler contains phospholipids, glycolipids, gum lipids, hormones, fatty acids, amino acids, proteins, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium and other components, of which amino acids account for more than half of the total components. Ancient doctors believed that the essence of deer lies in the horn, and antler is the bud of the horn. The gas is all but not vented, so the power of tonifying yang and blood is the most powerful.
