How to choose the right ATV&UTV Tires:

Tire sizing
Carlisle recommends that your replace your ATV's tires with tires equal, or as close to equal, width and height as the tires that came with your ATV. When changing the tires size on a 4WD vehicle,Carlisle recommends that your maintain the same outside diameter on both front and back tires. Otherwise, your could accelerate tire wear and /or damage the drive-train of your ATV.

Flator Round
A flat-top tire will put more tread to the ground, and is typically designed for medium-to hard-packed trails or courses.it will allow the rider to conduct " Power slides" in a more controlled envrionment. this type of tire also provides superior sidewall stability. A round-top tire is designed for more versatility, Unlike their flat-top counterparts , a round-top will perform much better in solf, gooey envrionments. Finally. a round-top tire typically provides a softer ride.

Ply Rating
Years ago. a tire's construction was rated by the number of plies( or layers) within the carcass. this is rating system was used when less durable material. (Such as cotton) was used to creat the tire carcass. becasue the material was less durable. it took more layers of bonded. fused material t increase the tire's strength and longevity, However. with the advent of new thchnologies and materials . a tire can be constructed with only a few (2 or 4) plies of material. yet have the same strength and longevity of a 6- or 8- ply tire. Hance . a new tire may have a 6-plyrating (based on the old standard) , yet be constructed with only a couple of laylers.

Pump EM UP
The most important rule of ATV tires performance is maintaining the correct tire pressure. Follow the manufacturer's recommended tire pressure requirements and check the tires pressure once a month ( more often if you change elevation frequently) Use the lowpressure gauge that comes with your ATV tool kit or invest in a dial-type gauge designed to read between 0 and 20 pounds per square inch ( Psi) , Most ATV tires operate at 5-7 Psi.
