Fiber optic patch cords, defined by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) as "passive components for stable, but not permanent, connection of two or more fibers" (CCITT Study Group VI was adopted in Geneva in March 1922).It is a device for detachable (active) connections between fiber and fiber.It precisely pairs the two end faces of the fiber to maximize the coupling of the optical energy output from the transmitting fiber to the receiving fiber and minimizes the impact on the system due to its involvement in the optical link.Optical fiber active connectors can be divided into common single-mode and multi-mode connectors of silicon-based fibers according to different transmission media, and other fiber-optic connectors such as plastics. Single mode  bundle cable 12 cores SC/UPC:
The role of the 12-core bundle pigtail is mainly used to connect the joints at both ends of the fiber. One end of the pigtail is welded to the fiber joint, and the other end is connected to the fiber transceiver or fiber module through a special joint (ST, SC, LC) to form optical data transmission path. The single-mode pigtail is yellow with two wavelengths, 1310nm and 1550nm, and the transmission distance is 10km and 40km respectively.It consists of 12 pigtails in the following order: blue, orange, green, brown, gray, white, red, black, yellow, purple, pink, light blue.The end face is a PC/UPC/APC grinding sphere.

The bundled pigtail consists of a Corning tight-fitting fiber that meets the full chromatographic specification, is surrounded by aramid fiber reinforced components, and is wrapped with a PVC outer sheath with certain flame retardant properties. It is widely used in dense connections between transmission lines and terminal equipment.
