6.Industrial Chiller Installation Precautions
Although Eurostars provides chiller installation guidance service, if you already have some experiences in chiller operation and installation, you can choose to proceed by yourself to save labor cost and time.
But pay attention to a few more details, the chiller will return you better performance and longer service life. 
Here are the precautions that you need to know before proceed:
(1)Selection of installation location.
For air cooled chillers,we need an open space with good ventilation. Make sure there is no barriers or walls within 1m around it, otherwise there will be trouble for air flow and heat dissipation. The point is we need to make sure the heat out from the chiller can be removed outside, instead of circulating within a small space.The distance to block also ensures space for maintenance. If you are planning to install an air cooled chiller in a space with poor ventilation, you need to consider mounting air duct on top of the chiller near the condenser fans, so to make sure heat removal.

In below picture, Case1 is a chiller located in drafty condition, Case 2 is a chiller located in poor ventilation environment.

For water cooled chillers, we just need to reserve enough space for maintenance, as the heat from the chiller is removed through water to the cooling tower.
(2)Ground for locating the chiller.
 Industrial chiller must be placed on solid and level concrete floor which is able to support the weight of the chiller. The levelness of the floor should be within 6mm. Chillers vibrate when running, if the floor is not solid nor flat, the chiller will easily displace, especially for portable chiller with casters. Rough ground will amplify the vibration of chiller, which will lead to serious troubles after long time running.
 
For a large chiller unit, say models higher than ESSA-15IDTN, we need to build concrete foundation for it. It is necessary to make 50-100mm absorbing gap fill with sands or pitch all around the foundation. On the foundation, there should be bolt holes for fastening the chiller base and concrete foundation together.
 
After the above things are done, let's put the chiller on the foundation. Then we need a level meter to check if there is any incline. If there is, put parallels between chiller base and concrete foundation to adjust it.

(3)Pipe, wire and filter preparation
*In a Eurostars chiller specification sheet, there is connection size and max amps for the unit. Correctly select the pipe and wire size by referring to it.
*If you are not so confident with the water quality in your location, filtration is a necessity to avoid the chiller water circuit from trouble.Y type filter is suggested.
*Make sure you are clear that which port you should connect to. Although there will be sign of inlet or outlet of every Eurostars chiller, double check it please.

7. Tips for Eurostars industrial chiller routine maintenance
To make sure the industrial chiller running healthily, we need to pay attention to two main aspects:
(1)Condenser is working well to discharge the heat. Especially in summer, if the condenser is covered with dust, or jammed(for water cooled condenser), it will easily lead to high pressure alarm of the chiller, which will cause chiller shut down or even malfunction.
(2) If the water in the evaporator is well circulated. Otherwise the cold energy generated by the chiller can not be taken out on time, which will cause low pressure alarm as well.

Below are some extra tips which help you to keep your chiller in well condition.
*Make sure the chiller is located in a dry and cool space with good ventilation.
*When installation, make sure the chiller is located on level ground. During its running, pay attention to any vibration you can see, and check if it is caused by incline.
*When shut off the chiller, turn off the compressor first, then the condensing fans.
*Whenever you find the cooling performance of the chiller is lower, clean the condenser first, and then check if all the valves are working well. Best working pressure for the condenser is below 1.5Mpa, checking and cleaning at intervals will keep it in healthy condition.
*For air cooled condenser, you need to make sure the air is flows well through it, and no filth or dirt covers on the aluminum fin. For water cooled condenser, better to put a filter at its inlet, to make sure no foreign matters go into it. At the same time, clean it every 6 month.
*If the chiller is not used for a long time, try to rotate the fan of the water pump manually first, in case it is blocked by some fallen matter.
*To check record the running specifications especially running pressure.
*If the chiller is not used in a long period, drain all the water in the chiller, so to avoid rusting and freezing.
*It is strongly suggested to change the refrigerant oil every 3 years.
