MATTING AGENT TP3209
Matting agent for TGIC powder coatings
Description:
TP 3209, a sort of matting agent, contains acrylic polymers and mainly used for matting TGIC outdoors. It can provide a certain matting effect (i.e. at least below 12 degrees). Additionally, it can offer pretty good surface and mechanical properties due to containing special substances inside and is with a better boiling resistance than others.

Typical physical data:
Appearance: Pale yellow colour granules
Soft point (ºC)140-160
Bulk density (g/l):550-650
Volatiles (%)≤1.5 Herein
described to be typical properties and do not constitute specification limits.
Application:
TP3209 is recommended as a matting agent, in conjunction with the proper polyester resins, to use in exterior durable TGIC based powder coatings to provide less than 15% of low loss.
Advantages:
One shot, gloss stable and decreased to less than 15% Excellent exterior durability
Excellent flow Excellent anti-yellowing easy to use and spray due to the lower wax content
Fewer defects such as spark or spot in dark appearance Better burnish resistance
Polyester resins recommended :
Uralac 5200, 5201 from DSM
ii) Crylcoat 2441-2 form Cytec.
Iii) Queli® P9336TG from Hangzhou Sino-French.
Use levels:
3- 5% by weight based on total formulation, depending on the gloss required. The following is reference formulation:
POLYESTER RESIN TP9035: 279
TGIC: 21
FLOWING AGENT TP88: 5
